GE Aviation plans to boost engine production

Staff Dayton Business Journal GE Aviation expects to make 3,800 commercial aircraft engines with its partners next year, up from 3,600 this year, according to the Cincinnati Business Courier. About 13 percent of production in 2014 will be for new engines, GE Aviation said, up from 9 percent this year and 2 percent in 2010. The company is supplying engines directly or through joint ventures CFM International and Engine Alliance. GE Aviation is a unit of General Electric Co., which has nearly 3,000 employees in the Dayton region through several of its operating units, such as GE Capital and GE Aviation.
